I commend whoever put effort towards these summer bands, it’s not easy to find the right ppl to do this and kids need stuff like this even if they not the top band they get to experience seeing some if they do go to any battles it’s better than wasting time with nonsense!

ESJ...Y'all need a new band director

i really don't think this is the whole band. However, having a place to practice and the availability of instruments could affect participation. I wish them the best this summer.

The embarrassment alone should make the city stand up. This is easily 200 piece band and that’s not including alumni , it’s about the city first‼️

Shreveport alone should have a megaband with all the schools there. People just have to dedicate to it‼️

There’s a reason why other band directors in the city are not assisting with the band. They can say what they want to validate it but we know the real reason. Shreveport band culture died years ago. The crazy part is most of them are PSI so you’d think they would be striving to make sure that the culture doesn’t die instead they jealous of one another. Roderick, Mank and Holden are the reasons why the culture is pretty much dead in Shreveport

In terms of having the kids involved in a summer activity that will keep them safe, allowing them to have fun while learning is great! Taking this group anywhere for a battle is going to hurt them more than anything. The group is small enough for damn near one on one instruction and yet the intonation, balance and blend Is not there. This should be a summer camp and not an all star band. I’m highly disappointed however I’m not surprised. Bands are going to be a reflection of who is in front of them and if the director(s) are not that good then the band will definitely mirror that ….

I will never say a negative words about kids practicing music and getting better. There are a number of negative things and trouble that these kids could be out getting into. Yes there are some musicality issues that need to be addressed, but I am sure they will get there.
